Booking Conditions

A      A deposit of 25% secures the booking.  A telephone / email / internet reservation will be held for five days until completion of the booking form and payment of the 25% deposit is received. 

B      The remaining 75% must be paid no later than eight weeks before the commencement date of the holiday.  This payment is non-refundable.  An invoice will be sent to the Client, non payment of this money will be treated as a cancellation of the reservation and clause ‘K’, below, will come into effect.

C      If a reservation is made within the eight week period before the commencement of holiday, the booking form must be accompanied by the full amount of the money due.

D      A security payment of £500 held against damage is payable at the time the remaining 75% of the booking is paid, eight weeks before the date of your arrival.  In the case of no damage at the property this payment is refundable in full.  We reserve the right to hold onto the security payment for a period of one week after your departure in order to assess the condition of the property.  Charges for damage are strictly at repair or replacement cost.  Liability for damage at the property is not limited to £500 and we reserve the right to recover all costs for damage to the property.  We recommend that you consider holiday insurance that covers you for damage.

All bookings are accepted on the condition that the client is responsible for and will pay for any damage and/or breakages in or to the property, including such damage as may be discovered within one week after the client’s departure.

E       For off season bookings (November to April inclusive), clients are responsible for the cost of heating.  A fixed charge of €100 per week is to be paid to the Caretaker prior to departure.  In the case of longer rental periods (two or more weeks), meter readings will be taken on arrival and departure and the client will be charged at the current rate levied by Electricité de France, plus VAT.

F      The client is responsible for any accident or personal injury arising from any action of a member of the client’s party.  Once again we recommend that you consider adequate insurance against holiday risks.

The client’s party is defined to be:

  1. The client and persons within his / her party staying at the premises;
  2. Any person invited to the premises during the client’s holiday.

G      The client accepts and acknowledges that a swimming pool is dangerous, especially for children.  The client hereby provides an assurance that members of the client’s party will act responsibly in and around the pool area and further assures and agrees that children in and around the pool area will be fully supervised at all times.  The client is fully responsible for any accident during their stay.

The pool has been fitted with a sensory alarm which is activated when there is water displaced in the pool to safeguard against persons falling into the swimming pool. The alarm fully conforms to the French regulatory authority AFNOR (Association Francaise de Normalisation) and should be used at all times when novice swimmers are in use of the pool.

H     Animals are permitted by prior arrangement only.  This is normally not a problem, please consult.

I       Cleaning products: basic cleaning products and materials will be left for the use of clients in the cleaning cupboards in the kitchen passage.

J       Arrival and departure:

  1. All times are quoted in local French time, which is normally one hour ahead of British time;
  2. You are asked to arrive between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and to leave by 10:00 a.m. on the allotted days.  The owner is not responsible for any situation arising from arrival or departure outside the specified times.  For possible arrival or departure outside of these times, please consult with the property manager at least 24 hours in advance, so that arrangements for safe keeping of the keys can be made;
  3. Bed linen (including standard pillow cases) & towels are available on arrival at an additional cost to the client. The charge is €15 per person and per stay (or per week if you require a change) which is payable to the property manager on arrival;
  4. In order that the villa is offered to new arrivals in an acceptable and satisfactory condition there will be a charge of €120 to the client for the final clean to the Villa, payable on arrival. The owner reserves the right to make deductions from the security deposit payment should the property be left unduly untidy or dirty. Please refer to “Facilities and Services” for further information.

K     Cancellation Policy:

You may cancel the contract at any time by notice in writing to the owner (please click on “Contact us”). In the event of your cancellation the following applies:

  1. If the booking is cancelled 12 weeks or more prior to the date of your arrival, the entire deposit is refundable;
  2. If the booking is cancelled 8 to 12 weeks prior to the date of arrival, 50% of the deposit is refundable;
  3. If the booking is cancelled less than 8 weeks prior to the date of arrival the entire deposit is non refundable.

L      Complaints:

Clients are able to contact the Caretaker or the owner if required at all times during the client’s occupancy.  If a client has a complaint, he is required to report the complaint by telephone and in writing immediately to the Caretaker or the owner, and it will be dealt with quickly and efficiently.

M     Photographs:

The photographs on this website are intended to give an overall impression rather than specific details of the villa.  The owners will not be liable for any items of furniture or chattels, which appear in the photographs, which may have been changed or removed from the villa and any aspects of the villa environment which may have changed since the photographs were taken.

N     Privacy Policy:

  1. The information that we gather through our registration forms and through any subsequent correspondence is stored in our database, which we ensure is secure at all times.  This information is held in the strictest confidence and never passed to third parties except when relevant to a service you have specifically requested, such as a credit card charge;
  2. Efforts are made to ensure that the site and the information are current and accurate, but please note that the owner does not warrant the accuracy, timeliness, adequacy, completeness of the information and expressly disclaims liability for errors or omissions.  No warranty of any kind, implied, express or statutory is given in conjunction with the information or the site;
  3. Links from or to websites outside this site are provided for convenience only.  The owner does not endorse, approve or control the information contained on sites linked to / from our site.  Linking to any other site is at your risk and the owner is not responsible for any damages in connection therewith;
  4. By disclosing your personal information to the owner and by using this website or by providing information over the telephone, you consent to the collection, storage and processing of your personal information by the owner as stated here.

O     The owner shall not be liable to the Client:

  1. For any loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes or other matters beyond the control of the Owner;
  2. For any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the Client if the property shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period.  In such event the owner shall, within seven days of the notification to the Client, refund to the Client all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period;
  3. Or be held responsible for any loss or expense caused by strike, accident, breakdown, war, weather, sickness, civil disturbance, failure of electricity, water, gas or any service supplied locally;
  4. For any loss or damage to any motor vehicle or its contents.

P      The Client and party acquire no rights whatsoever over the Property excepting for occupation as a short term holiday rental for the period booked.  The Client shall not sub-let the Property.

Q     The Client shall be deemed to have read and accepted all these conditions on behalf of all members of his or her party when the booking is made.
